Jonah Street

Street to Dakar

Jonah Street was born to race. A longtime resident of Ellensburg, Wash., Jonah began "cutting through the sagebrush" in Central Washington's semi-arid-desert-like-terrain at the age of six. It was not long before Jonah was known throughout the region for his prowess on motorcycles.

Today, winning numerous international championships, 34-year old Jonah Street is a world-class motorcycle racer who has garnered acclaim for his skill, his undaunting courage under pressure, his humanity toward fellow racers, and his fervor for motorcycle racing.

Known as a "Privateer," Jonah Street is the lead rider for Team Rally PanAmerica – a passionate seven-man team based out of San Francisco. Team Rally PanAmerica will compete for a second year in the grueling 15-day, 5600-mile Lisbon to Dakar 2007 Rally.

Unlike corporate teams with plenty of financial backing, Jonah Street and Team Rally PanAmerica race independently with funding from both supporting fans and sponsors including Top 1 Oil Products, APL (American President Line) and PAi (Plan Administrators, Inc.).

During the Dakar Rally 2006, Jonah Street staked his claim as a top contender. Competing against 252 other motorcyclists, and a newcomer to this very different style of racing, Jonah placed 17th overall. More impressively, Jonah turned in outstanding times in three of the 15 stages of the race: 3rd in Stage 11, 5th in Stage 12, and 2nd in Stage 13 – stunning the establishment.
