2007 Lisbon to Dakar Rally

January 6 – 20, 2007

When the roar of motorcycle engines fills the predawn silence in Lisbon, Portugal on January 6, 2007, the world will once again witness the spectacular Lisbon to Dakar Rally. This year's race marks the 29th anniversary of a grueling 15-day, 5600-mile event that begins in Lisbon and winds through the most rugged terrains of Spain, Morroco, Sahara Occidental, Mauritania, Mali, and ends at the western coastline of Dakar, Senegal.

Thierry Sabine, founder of the 1978 Paris to Dakar Rally, established the rally credo: "A challenge for those who go. A dream for those who stay behind." Today the race to Dakar hosts more than 750 competitors, including more than 260 men and women racing on motorcycles; nearly 200 in cars; and more than 80 in trucks.

Only the toughest and most experienced motorcycle riders can claim a spot on one of the 15 stages along the challenging and dangerous route to Dakar. Only one racer can claim victory. Jonah Street has the guts, the skills, and the will to win the 2007 Lisbon to Dakar Rally.
